Once the second leading port of entry for immigrants to the U.S., this gorgeous waterfront now draws people from all over the world to enjoy its lively array of bars, restaurants, hotels, shops and museums. Feast on Brazilian steaks at one of Zagat’s “America’s Top Restaurants,” Fogo De Chao, where the servers deliver every kind of meat imaginable to your table on skewers. Board the USS Constellation, the last all-sail ship built by the United States Navy, and converse with the knowledgeable crew about how the vessel delivered food to Ireland in a time of famine. For a laid-back Sunday, stop by The Rusty Scupper, the restaurant known for having the best view of the harbor, and sip mimosas to live jazz for a leisurely brunch of seafood, omelets and Belgian waffles.
At some point, you’ll need to bypass the Inner Harbor and head eastbound to the cobble-stoned streets of Fells Point. This Baltimore neighborhood was once featured in the classic chick flick “Sleepless in Seattle” and is littered with classic clothing shops, record and antique stores and boutiques offering flowers, jewelry and fine collectibles.
And whether you’re a baseball fan or not, Oriole Park at Camden Yards cannot be missed. Baseball buffs have been known to brag of the Major League Baseball stadium’s beauty, and iconic players like Babe Ruth and Cal Ripken Jr. who hit home runs on its fields.
